If a criminal has a gun, no amount of notepads, whistles, and frienliness is going to stop them if intent on killing someone. The US system of every cop carrying a gun is definately flawed; however a system with the police carrying no guns? The British system is a fair compramise. As you stated above, guns are made to kill people; however if one person shall kill 30 would their life not be a justified loss? It is utilitarian i admit, and you may not agree, but you should definately consider it. My argument is that guns are built to kill people, if people are carrying guns that means they foresee using them at some point. However, the risk of me or you being killed in a terrorist attack is so incredibly low I'm able to dimiss it, guns aren't necessary. Of course it’s important to protect the people.
